PrestaShop upgrades with a commercial purpose
Turn your next upgrade into a better place to buy.
An upgrade is an opportunity to improve the experience your customers live with every day. I plan the technical move alongside practical improvements to product discovery, mobile shopping, speed and checkout.
Keep the business in view.
Start with the existing shop, its custom behaviour and the workflows the business depends on.
Remove familiar frustrations.
Use the project to address the parts of browsing and buying that deserve attention.
Review a working shop.
Test the upgraded experience on staging before planning its move into production.
The practical difference
The version number is one part of the project.
Real shops accumulate history: modules, theme changes, custom code, payment rules and catalogue decisions. I review that history before recommending an upgrade path, so essential business behaviour stays part of the plan.
The work happens on a development copy. You can review the upgraded shop, raise questions and see how the new experience handles real products and customer journeys before launch.
The agreed scope can also address weak navigation, product presentation or checkout. Important URLs, order flows and the server environment are considered together. Launch follows merchant review and a practical cutover plan.
Review areas for the project
- Current theme, modules and custom behaviour
- Products, combinations and customer workflows
- Payments, carriers, order messages and emails
- Important URLs and redirect requirements
- Staging review, launch and post-launch checks
From first look to useful progress
A controlled route to the upgraded shop.
Review and scope
Assess the current installation, compatibility needs and the improvements that belong in this project.
02Build on staging
Complete the upgrade and agreed improvements, then review the working result with you.
03Test and launch
Check critical workflows, prepare final synchronisation and verify the live shop after cutover.
Before we start
A few useful answers.
The build is prepared on a staging copy while your live shop operates. Final synchronisation and any required maintenance window are planned as part of the cutover.
Can every existing module be kept?Compatibility is reviewed before the scope is agreed. Some modules may need updates, replacements or specific integration work. Business-critical behaviour is identified early.
Can you quote from the version number alone? The version helps, but the theme, modules, custom code and business requirements determine the work. I review those details before agreeing a flat-rate project quote.
Let’s make a useful next move
